Lean 6
Innovations reflects
the unique confluence of the founders broad
professional experience. Recognizing the
complementary nature of the objectives, tools, and techniques of the Lean
Six Sigma operational efficiency discipline; advanced innovation , product design, and
development; and market analysis and consumer research; Tim Yerby founded Lean 6 Innovations
to provide services in these areas.
Tim began
preparing for his career by completing his BS in Mechanical Engineering
from
A steady progression
through engineering management at firms such Lennox, Elk Corporation,
Allied Signal, and Ryobi, continued to provide
opportunities for exemplary accomplishment in the manufacturing, process, and
project engineering and management areas.
Examples include $50MM Greenfield plant startups, QS9000 certification
programs, and high speed manufacturing automation systems.
Tim’s career
progression continued after joining Seaquist Perfect
Dispensing, moving in to the Product Development Area as Technical Manager
of Seaquist Perfect Dispensing’s Innovation group. With a focus on growing profits through new
product sales, Tim led a multi-functional group tasked with delivering
successful new product launches. Tim’s
group had responsibility for all aspects of the product launch including market
analysis and opportunity discovery; concept development; consumer research;
business case development; product, mold, and automation design, development and
prototyping; tooling and assembly automation acquisition, startup and validation;
sales training and customer presentations; and product launch. Tim’s group used a solid stage gate
development process and advanced development tools such as FMEA, DOE, and
others to launch multiple highly successful new products. These products would have extremely valuable intellectual
property and would dramatically grow Seaquist’s profits
from new products. More
information on some examples of these product launches is availabe in the
Awards and Accomplishments section here.
During his tenure managing Seaquist’s Innovation group, Tim also completed his MBA
with a concentration in marketing, honing market analysis and consumer
research skills throughout the years of launching new products with Seaquist.
Tim’s career
progression continued as Director of Marketing,
Tim’s long
experience in operational excellence, Lean Six Sigma Black Belt training,
Product and Process Innovation successes, and market analysis and consumer
research expertise led him to launch Lean 6 Innovations to bring this
experience and expertise to a broader range of organizations, specializing in
the complementary disciplines of advanced product development, market
analysis and consumer research, and Lean Six Sigma operational excellence.
